Tales of new ancients rhythms

Keyvan et Bijan Chemirani

Iranian percussion

Keyvan Chemirani Zarb, percussion, santur
Bijan Chemirani Zarb, percussion, saz

The Chemirani brothers grew up together in south-western France, where they learnt to play the zarb, a percussion instrument used in classical Persian music, with their father Djamchid, in the true tradition of master and student. Following in the footsteps of their father, they rapidly put their knowledge into practice with musicians from various backgrounds, such as world, jazz, classical and contemporary music, sometimes separately and often together. It is only natural for them to now look to highlight the musical bonds and complementarity that has emerged from their various musical adventures.
